Concerned group tackles trend of increased suicide rate among youth population
BRAZILAt a time when a considerable part of the world's youth population return to their classrooms, Jehovah's Witnesses will be distributing a series of articles that discuss suicide and the possible prevention of this worldwide problem.
In some 230 lands across the globe, the September 8, 1998, Awake! article "SuicideA Scourge of Young People" will be made available to organizations, groups, and all individuals concerned with this alarming trend. There are many theories about the motivations for suicide among young people, but the answers to preventing such tragic deaths are far from simple. The other three feature articles will offer a fresh look at the complexities involved with why young people choose suicide as an option.
The international newsmagazine is published in 81 languages, with a distribution of close to 20 million copies.
Magazines will be available in Afrikaans, Arabic, Cebuano, Chinese, Chinese (Simplified), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Iloko, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malayalam, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tagalog, Tamil, Ukrainian, Yoruba, and Zulu.
